Mexico City.- 11 journalists have been murdered in Mexico with the recent killings of Yesenia Milanedo Falconi and Sheila Johanna García Olverawho died this Monday after being shot in the head in the municipal seat of Kosoliac, an oil and livestock sector in southern Veracruz.

Just three days earlier, El Debate columnist, Luis Ramírez Ramos, was beaten to death, whose body was found in a gap that leads to Las Nánchez Campestre in Culiacán, Sinaloa.

In March, journalist Juan Carlos Muniz and journalist Armando Linares were assassinated. The first was Fresnillo, working as an application driver in Zacatecas, when he was attacked with a shotgun. Meanwhile, the second was murdered on March 15 in the municipal seat of Zitacuaro, Michoacán.

In February, journalist Heber López was murdered outside his home, which is located in the El Espilón neighborhood of the municipality of Salinas Cruz, Oaxaca. According to information received from the state prosecutor’s office, at least two people were arrested for the act.

Jorge Camaro Zazueta was assassinated on February 24 of this year. He was the director of the news portal El Informativo in the municipality of Ampleme, Sonora.

The killings of four communicators were recorded in the month of January. The first was José Luis Gamboa, who died from wounds from white weapons carried by alleged attackers in the Foresta subdivision of the port of Veracruz.

On January 17, two days after the crime against Gamboa, photojournalist Margarito Esquivel Martínez was murdered outside her home in the Sánchez Taboda neighborhood of Tijuana.

Lourdes Maldonado was shot dead while she was inside her car outside her home in the Santa Fe subdivision in Tijuana.

Journalist Roberto Toledo suffered an armed attack outside a legal office and died while being transferred to a nearby hospital.
